ASU Helios Decision Center for Educational Excellence Strategic Data Project Fellow
Tempe, AZ
I‘m a Cohort 13 Fellow working at the ASU Helios Decision Center for Educational Excellence. Our Center is part of Arizona State University and we are a unique partnership between ASU and the Helios Education Foundation. We work closely with the Arizona Department of Education as well as the state’s public community colleges and universities to improve and promote successful outcomes for all of AZ’s students. We work on a lot of different projects: including an automatic admissions pilot, a series of visualizations related to issues in education and, the main project my Capstone is focused on, our Postsecondary Feedback Reports (PSFR) Portal which provides public high schools with previously unavailable information on their graduates’ postsecondary outcomes.
Before joining the Decision Center and SDP, I was working on my PhD at UC Santa Barbara where I studied K-12 education policy, and my roots are as a classroom teacher (4th/5th grade). I’m interested in lots of aspects of education, as well as geography, data systems and strategy and urban planning.
